Description:
Thematic album on the paper art exhibition "Incunabula and batik manuals" from 2010, by the Cracow artist Małgorzata Buczek-Śledzińska.
Małgorzata Buczek-Śledzińska was born and works in Cracow. From 1976 to 1981. she studied at the J. Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow at the Faculty of Painting. In 1981, she received a diploma in the discipline of Painting - in the studio of Prof. Tadeusz Brzozowski and a diploma in the discipline of Artistic Unique Textile - in the studio of Prof. Stefan Galkowski.
Paper became the artist's medium after returning from Mexico, where she had the opportunity to learn about the technology of its production. After returning to the country, she began to experiment with the organic matter of our latitude. Paper became an inspiration for her as a substrate for writing, graphic signs... This is how the series of works "Incunabula and batik manuals" was created. Manuals are impressions of notations made using the batik technique on paper created by hand by the artist.
