Description:

A Tale of Two Cities is a historical novel by Charles Dickens, published in episodes in the weekly "All the Year Round" in 1859. The work is set from 1775 until the French Revolution. It tells the story of the fate of Frenchman Charles Darnay and Englishman Sydney Carton, against the backdrop of two cities - Paris and London. It is one of the best-selling books of all time - more than 200 million pieces have been sold.

The edition is illustrated by Fred Barnard (1846-1896) English illustrator, caricaturist.
