Police and legal chemistry. Published by the Medical Council of the Kingdom of Poland. Edited by Council member J. Bełza. Warsaw 1844. in the Government Printing House. Pp. [16], 460, XXVI, [10], f. plates 14; 22cm.

Hardcover half leather of period, signboard on spine, page edges stained yellow. Good condition, rubbing/bending of binding, faded signature/dedication from 1844 on title page.

One of the first Polish works on forensic science. Concerning the study of biological traces and the use of chemical compounds to detect forgery.

Józef Bełza (1805-1888 in Warsaw)- Polish chemist, pioneer of sugar industry in Poland.
