Madonna of Busowiska - a novella by Wladyslaw Lozinski published in Krakow in 1892. Its first printing appeared in the Polish Review in 1886. The action takes place in the countryside of Galicia circa 1875. It realistically portrays the hierarchy of the local social groups. It is characterized by the brevity of its composition. It was considered by critics to be the writer's outstanding work. The novella was translated into French, Czech and German.
