"Children" the writer's last completed novel is published in a new edition - organizing issues related to the rich history of the text (compiled by Agata Grabowska-Kuniczuk). During the lifetime of Boleslaw Prus, three versions of the novel were published as a newspaper print in episodes, which were published almost simultaneously in the two partitions: the Russian and Austrian ("Epoka" 3 VI-17 X 1907, zakordon print in Galicia: "Kurier Lwowski" from 30 XI-28 XII 1907 and "Tygodnik Ilustrowany" 4 I-26 XII 1908), as well as book printing (the last during the author's lifetime) in the Gebethner and Wolff Publishing House of 1909. "Children" by Boleslaw Prus is widely regarded as a novel of a political nature. The work concerns the events of the 1905 revolution in the lands of the Kingdom of Poland under the Russian partition, but it is primarily a psychological novel about a generation of young people fighting for freedom and youthful ideals.
