Description:
"During his stay in Vilnius, he conducted a thorough source search, mainly in the cathedral archives, as well as in archives within the diocese, as a result of which he wrote a treatise that has not lost its validity to this day - Lives of the Bishops of Vilnius (Pet. 1860 I-III). The Lives, already completed in Kronstadt (1858), covered the biographies of the Vilna bishops from the foundation of the bishopric (1387) to the death of Bishop Hieronim Strojnowski (1815)."
