"The New Coat of Arms of Poland" is the fruit of many years of queries and graphic work, as well as cooperation with private researchers. In this edition, I owe especially much to Vilnius historian Czeslaw Malewski. Thousands of documents from the Vilnius governorate that he donated made it possible to discover about one and a half hundred unknown varieties of Polish coats of arms from the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which were legalized as a result of the need to carry out the procedure of legitimizing nobility during the period of partition.
The current heraldry, compared to the previous one from 2011, has been revised by about 10% and supplemented with new coats of arms and several thousand family names previously missing from the directories. In addition to additional information, the new edition provides a handy format, maximum facilities and great durability for everyday use. From the Author - an excerpt
Tadeusz Gajl (born 1940 in Vilnius) - graphic artist, creator of world-famous depictions of historical coats of arms of Polish nobility. Coats of arms of his authorship have gained widespread acceptance among heraldists, referred to in nomenclature as Gajl coats of arms (Gajlesque Coat of Arms).
