Franciszek Gajewski coat of arms Ostoja (1792-1868) - colonel, adjutant to Emperor Napoleon I, cavalier of the Legion of Honor, participant in the November Uprising. In 1807 he began his studies at the Military Engineering School in Dresden. In 1809, being a second lieutenant of the Saxon army, he took part in the Battle of Wagram. Then he became a staff officer in the army of Napoleon I, participated in the invasion of Russia (1812) and the campaigns of 1813-1814. For his heroism in the Battle of Dresden (1813) he received the rank of colonel and the Legion of Honor. He also served as Napoleon I's adjutant during this period. After Napoleon I's abdication, he settled in Blociszewo. He later took part in the November Uprising as a squadron commander of the 1st Kalisz Cavalry Regiment. After the fall of the uprising, he lived the life of a landowner until his death on April 9, 1868.
