Ksiegi narodu polskiego i pielgrzymstwa polskiego - a poetic work, a publicistic pamphlet of political character written by Adam Mickiewicz and published in December 1832 in Paris. The work was written during the most prolific literary period of Mickiewicz's life, shortly after the fall of the November Uprising, shortly after the writing of Dziady Part III, and immediately before the creation of Pan Tadeusz. In their form, the books resemble Gospel parables, which is a deliberate effort by the author. In terms of literary genre, they are classified as apocryphal literature. Nevertheless, in their message they are a journalistic work related to the situation of Poles at the dawn of the Great Emigration. The books were addressed especially to emigrants after the defeat of the November Uprising. Mickiewicz expresses his opinion on the political disputes of the Polish emigration, which, in his opinion, pose a threat to the sense of national unity. He appealed to the emigration for agreement and readiness to act. The books are one of the foundations of Polish messianism, since Poland, the author writes, survives in the ideals of Christian faith and the desire for freedom; thus, in his opinion, it has a redemptive role. He compares her partition to the passion of Jesus Christ, and her liberation to the resurrection.
